I’ve been passionate about food from a young age, and in 2010, while I was traveling in Indonesia, I decided to become vegetarian. I didn’t eat much meat at that time, but the tipping point was my first night in Ubud, Bali where I watched The Cove for my first time.  My decision to enter into a meat-less world was and continues to be based on values of health promotion, environment protection and animal rights.  In 2011, I decided to become vegan for a month and try it out, and I loved it and I’ve continued that practice today.

I love experimenting in the kitchen. I started this blog for a few reasons. I wanted to show others that we can eat delicious food that is plant based and easy to make.  I love food, and I didn’t want my decision to not eat animal products to impact the quality of food I can eat. I also wanted to investigate for myself why that food was nutritious, and how I could prepare food that would meet all my dietary requirements. After a few years of constantly reading up on nutrition in my spare time, I decided to go back to school part-time to become a Certified Nutritional Practitioner at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Vancouver. I hope that I can inspire others to incorporate more veggies into their daily life, but also advise people on how to become and stay healthy through eating the right foods.
